Thursday night is a shame. Volleyball adequate, wings adequate, inside bar service atrocious. Bad enough had to eat six feet from a dog, at a bar, but my bartender was absolutely the worst. The staff outside kept me around while I watched volleyball, but as soon as I came back in it was a 45 to the noggin moment. Wont be back. Enjoy the akward moments. .....

Service is still shitty. Been here for half hour server has been here once. Will not come back and will let others know how bad it is. Worst bar ever!!

This is an interesting place. As others have noted Hopper's is: Hard to find Strange building shape Random steps to trip over But they have recently remodeled and flipped the area where the pool tables and regular tables were, added in a shuffleboard table, a garage door out into the patio and a new stage that can face either inside or outside....it was a big improvement over the earlier configuration. The outside bar is large and can fit lots of people without feeling crowded. They have Bean Bags and Volleyball and can be quite fun with the right group of people. The people are always interesting...I find myself going in from outside to get a drink and end up talking to some old dude for 15 minutes....I'm really at a 3.5 on this place. If the food improves I'd be willing to go to 4.

Surprisingly decent for a bar that was made from a converted gas station. It's in a pretty hidden location but once you figure out how to get here it's not too bad. Plenty of flat screens for the games and pool tables. There's an ATM inside and plenty of room to spread out. Saturday night is Karaoke night which was Okay. If I wasn't playing designated driver and could get trashed I might enjoy it more. Outside is another seasonal bar area with sand volleyball pit. Inside the bartender was friendly and there didn't seem to be any attitude from the staff or patrons inside. The bathrooms are over-lit - seriously it must be a thousand watt tube they use in the fluorescent fixture. Decently clean inside but run down enough to remind you that you are indeed still in a bar. The bar serves bar-type food (wings, cheese sticks, etc.) but I did not partake in any this visit. Plenty of parking. Overall, a cool place to visit, chill, and spend some time.

Enjoyable crowd of regulars. Great fun with the volleyball in the summer. The wings are great and cheapest place for drinks after 10 pm

This place WOW! not in a good way. It was the worst bar I been to in a LONG LONG LONG TIME and I mean LONG TIME. My buddies and I had some of there food and we had the honey hot wings, nachos, and someone had the cheese burger. Everything was HORRIBLE. The atmosphere was even more horrible. The night we went on was karaoke night...need I say more. The food was greasy and it just sucked. This is on my BOOOO URNNNS list hah

Service was somewhat scattered. Our server (who was also working the bar) would check-in and then disappear for long periods of times because they were understaffed. If you're going to offer outdoor and indoor seating, make sure there is adequate staffing. Many times, we'd have to go to the bar if we wanted another drink. The "homemade chips" were terrible--burned and no seasoning whatsoever. The French Dip was far better in comparison--the meat was tender, it wasn't overloaded with cheese, and the optional grilled onion provided a nice balance between the bread and other components. The au jus wasn't overly salty; rather the au jus had a natural flavor to it, which is how it should be. I don't believe Wi-Fi was available.

Wandered in after a 3 hour stint at the Brass Armadillo to watch the last hour of the USA Womens' Soccer WIN. Sat out in the open air bar - really perfect being outdoors because it's covered, on the south side and downright pleasant. No volleyball tonight but the bar was full of soccer fans. My friend and I had a few beers, which were cheap, no food because we'd eaten earlier but all in all it was a very mellow place with super nice staff. I say that because I started onto the patio with a glass container, big no-no, went back to the bar to get a plastic cup and promptly poured it into a the container making a foaming mess. Three staffers helped me clean up the overflow, which I was taking care of but appreciated the attention. This place is huge, about half filled with easy going types, no bikers, not that there's anything wrong with bikers, but just saying. It's a neighborhood place - wish it was in mine.

Horrible service!!! Waited about 10 minutes until we saw an employee. She served half the bar and left again. 5 minutes more of waiting and we left. P.S. The guys next to us were waiting 20 minutes trying to find an employee and close out. Yikes!

Yeah, it's hard to find Hoppers, but it's totally worth seeking out.. If you're looking for a divey-but-not-too-divey spot for some good drinks, burgers and tots, and fast service, this is your spot. Better yet, if you're looking for a totally awesome patio, real sand volleyball, cornhole - this is the place you need to be during the warmer months. They often have music, or sports on the TVs, and we always have fun when we're here.

Um nice venue . Horrible location. Hard to even find the ebtrance. But once you get in it gets worse... Horrible service. Bartenders just mi gle they dont take your order. Jeez people what happened to customer service. im actually leaveing than rather flag the girl down

Kinda like this place. Weird location and entrance but not much you can do for a place that used to be a gas station. The food is just okay, except for the totchos... Those are pretty great! The staff is pretty friendly but could be a little more attentive sometimes. The crowd varies depending on the night but it's fun to watch and play volleyball while there's a live band on the weekends.

I felt dirty at this place. And I still don't know how I feel about that. So when I got here, I really didn't know I was at the destination of Hoppers. It looks completely sketch coming off of I70 with a dimly lit sign and parking in the way, like way back, where you can't even see it. But it's the WVU alumni association spot and I love to support the team, so Hopper's it was. What surprised me what the size of the place.......not in a good way. It's really small with the pool area being larger than the bar/seating area) with some interesting clientele. My resolution is to be nicer so we will just keep it at that. Service kinda sucked but it looked only one guy was there working and on the night of a bowl game, it got a wee bit crazy and home boy was in the weeds. Friendly dude though who eventually brought us our beer which is always welcome! The other surprises were good though--great bar food for cheap. And I mean cheap with a capital C, burgers and fries range around the $4 or $5 mark and they have a good selection of appetizers and wing flavors. Word on the street is that you can get their breakfast burrito they don't advertise on the menu any time of the day. They have a happy hour special as well, I think it goes up to 6:30p but just my luck I got there at 6:40. All in all? This place is interesting, like, interesting I was telling my coworkers all about it the next day. I wouldn't come here just to go have a drink but will definitely be back to watch some WV football.

This place gets 3 stars due to potential. The actual building is big and has a nice outdoor deck and sand volley ball court. Its the perfect set up for some real good times... they have a good spot ( even if its hard to find)... not a lot of traffic, parking for your customers... They just need to do some things to up their game a bit. Get a sign that draws attention... you have the room for it, get some people in there :) Now, maybe it does get incredibly crowded, but I was there at 6 on Friday and there were a handful of people. I think they can get more. As of right now, do NOT go there for the food. We couldn't even finish our burgers, but the tater tots ( smothered) were ok. They were out of a few common beers... and that sucked... our server was super nice, just too distracted working behind the bar and taking care of tables... help arrived eventually for her. This is the place you go to have some fun and drinks, and hopefully have some cool events.... It just needs to reevaluate and start fresh... you have the space, and that's half the battle.

I really want to like Hopper's because it is really close to my apartment and I can walk there, but I'm not really feeling it there. I've been there probably five times, usually with two friends. There have been moments when I felt like Hopper's could become "our bar" but after last night, I really don't anticipate going back anytime soon. My friend and I both ordered Jack and Cokes, and mine tasted like pure alcohol and my friend's tasted like pure soda. We ordered two more, just hoping the first were flukes and neither of them tasted like anything. It was frustrating because the night was perfect for sitting outside and the patio at Hopper's is great. We ended up leaving and going to another bar in the area. Like I said, I don't really plan on ever going back here again unless my friends really want to. The one redeeming thing about this place are the "totchos" (tater tots covered in green chile and nacho toppings) but I can make those at home pretty easily.
